金曲獎「最佳專輯包裝獎」的作品「卡片教堂的鐘聲」
原來是來自設計大師蕭青陽先生，對於宜灣部落一群阿美族人的單純信仰的感動！
Mr. Qing-Yang Xiao was just awarded "the Best Album Package Award" in the Golden Melody Awards 2013 with his design for the album "Church Cards", where there is a church in European-style block-printing, and yet the cover is full of Amis writings……
Yes, the design was actually inspired by Xiao's affection for the pure belief of the local Amis people of Sa'aniwan for their religion!

民國 63 年 6 月，台灣東部來了一個大颱風，將台 11 線旁的阿美族宜灣部落（Sa'aniwan）原本的竹架茅草教堂吹垮了。
正當正當族人煩惱著，該如何重新蓋起這個族人每個禮拜天都要向神禱告的教堂時，一位阿美族的板模師傅賴明德拿著一張卡片，靈機一動：「我們何不來蓋個卡片教堂？」
這張聖誕卡片是當年一位西方的傳教士在部落傳教時所帶來的。卡片上頭是一座國外卡通式的夢幻教堂，讓當地的小朋友知道，哇，原來教堂也可以這麼漂亮！
於是藉由這張照片，賴師傅聯合部落族人一起把教堂重新蓋起來，從教堂上的星星、月亮，到小天使，都跟卡片上一樣。族人們沒有什麼財力，但就憑藉著對信仰的虔誠，大家一起土法煉鋼，用灌版模的方式把教堂的正面完成，就連教堂最上面的彩繪圓形圖案，都是族人拿家裡廚房的鍋蓋完成的咧！
一群人把教堂正面蓋好後，開始要蓋背面，才熊熊發現卡片的背面是祝福的話（XDDD），而且當時大家也沒錢了，只好就此作罷，但仍然以鐵皮屋搭建好教堂的背面和內部。設計師蕭青陽先生，深受族人對於信仰虔誠的感動，因此將這份感動，畫成「卡片教堂的鐘聲」這張專輯的美麗封面，一舉拿下本屆金曲獎的「最佳專輯包裝獎」！

「本專輯的設計，獻給當年手持卡片蓋起卡片教堂的阿美族板模師傅賴明德先生，他於2012年離開了這個世界。 」

【關於「卡片教堂的鐘聲」】
因緣際會，來自台東縣成功鎮的十五歲少女盧葦，在即將遠赴歐洲奧地利展開另一段音樂學習旅程前，為電影《不倒翁的奇幻旅程》譜寫配樂，成為「卡片教堂的鐘聲」這張專輯。
專輯設計以宜灣部落的卡片教堂為概念，上頭寫滿滿的阿美語，教堂本身卻是發想自歐洲的版畫，融合了東西方的風情，非常特別。在歌曲方面，從「卡片教堂」、「比西里岸」，到「Amis 在跳舞」，也都跟台東成功當地的阿美族部落文化有關......

In Jun of 1074, a great typhoon stormed the Eastern Coast of Taiwan and took down the bamboo-built church of Sa'aniwan, an Amis tribe by the Highway No.11.
Just as the locals were worried how to rebuild the church that they went every Sunday, an Amis mason, Mr. Ming-De Lai, saw a Chirstmas card and got inspired: "Why don't we just rebuild the church following the picture on the card?"
The Christmas card was left by a Western missionary coming to the tribe in early days, and there is a beautiful European-style church with which he wanted to show to the local Amis children that, Wow, so a church could be so beautiful like this!
So with the card, Lai led his people to rebuild the church. Everything on the facade of the church, from the sculptures of the stars, the moons, to the angels, looks the same as those in the card. However, the people had no money to built it in a fancy way. They just built the church in the most primitive and yet the most affordable way -- Even the round sculpture on the top of the church was done with the lid of the pan from someone's kitchen!
After finishing the facade, the people found that they had no money and no model to follow to finish the back of the church, as the back of the card was some greetings :P So they just roughly finished the back and the innter side of the church with molding. As deeply moved by the pure belief of the local Amis people to the religion, the designer Xiao finished the cover of the album "Church Cards" and successfully got awarded with "the Best Album Package Award" in the Golden Melody Awards last Sat!
He said in his fan page:
"The design of this album is for Mr. Ming-De Lai, the Amis mason who built the church following a card in his hand, who left us in 2012."
